Colourful Gray

So yeah, I thought my hang-up on the 80s were almost over. How long can you walk around in sheer pastels, light pink lips and mashed-up patterns anyway?

Then came Louise Gray's 2010 Spring/Summer collection, and my crush was BACK. It's a bit cold for it now, but come May I'll be sporting this look for sure. The colours look so randomly put together (of course they're not) but it somehow works. Love the styling as well. Suddenly the 80s feels right AGAIN.

MJ! Oh MJ!

I've been warming towards the 80s for a while now. Luckily, so has Marc Jacobs! He's not only referencing the 80s, he's recreating it! His FW/09 collection takes it almost painfully far out; he calls it a tribute to New York in the 80s. Lots of vibrant colours, shoulder pads, bubble skirts, curly hair รก la Alexis in the Dynasty and printed tights - it might be what women need in these difficult times? Power dressing never hurt anyone.

Acceptable in the 80s

It's official: My new style icons are Krystle and Fallon from Dynasty! Since the re-runs of this old Spelling-show started running, I've been hooked. And it's not because of the storyline (although it's pretty good, to be honest). No, it's because of the huge shoulder pads, the big hair, the amazing jewelry, the high-waisted jeans and the suits in pastels. Bomb! Everything was big in the 80s. Everything was great in the 80s.
Get on it.
