God is in the details

God is in the details. I can imagine that's something Dries van Noten knows, 'cause God was definitely present at the designer's show in Paris today. What details! It was utter perfection from beginning to end. Amazing, unexpected colours lifted the retro-look of pilot jackets, camel brown coats, brown leather courts and leather skirts to a whole new level. The inspiration from post-world war 2 fashion was clear enough, but with the use of mint green, camel, pink, purple, yellow and orange it looked very modern and fresh. Bright red lips, pilot glasses and snakeskin bags gave it a hint of luxury and youth - something to feel good about. The collection is right on top of my list of this seasons collections, next to Marc Jacobs. 1940s mixed with 1970s and impeccable details = autumn 2009 for me!
